Helen Atsma, formerly Editorial Director of Fiction at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, joins Ecco as VP and Editorial Director. At Harlequin, Samantha MacVeigh, formerly Assistant Communications Manager at Kensington Publishing, joins as Publicist.

At Abrams, Jessica Wiener, formerly Marketing Director at Henry Holt, joins as Senior Director of Marketing for Adult Books. Shannon Kelly, lately Assistant Editor at Penguin Books, joins as Associate Editor, Adult. Heather Kelly, formerly Senior Designer at Sterling Children’s Books, joins Abrams Children’s Books as Senior Designer.

Cara Duckworth has joined the Association of American Publishers as VP, Communications. She was formerly SVP, Communications at the Recording Industry Association of America.

David Zielonka joins Stanford University Press as Director, Editorial, Design, and Production. He was formerly Program Manager of Strategic Sourcing at Cengage.

At Kensington, Seniqua Koger, most recently Special Markets Director, Retail at Hachette Book Group, joins as Special Markets Director.

At Fortier Public Relations, Jessica Pellien joins as Associate Director of Publicity. She was previously Executive Publicist and Communications Manager at MIT Press.

In agency news…Iris Blasi, formerly Marketing Director and Senior Editor at Pegasus Books, joins the Carol Mann Agency as Literary Agent. At Jean V. Naggar Literary Agency, Alicia Brooks joins as Literary Agent; she had been Editor at Picador and St. Martin’s Press. Megan Manzano joins D4EO Literary Agency as Agent.

Derek Warker joins The New Press as Publicity Manager, having worked previously as Publicist at Columbia University Press.

Kelly O’Connor Lonesome joins Tom Doherty as Senior Editor of Nightfire. In the past, she had been Associate Editor at Hachette Book Group.

At Workman Publishing, John Meils, most recently Senior Editor at Sterling Publishing, rejoins the company as Senior Editor. Maya Fakundiny has joined as Digital Marketing and Advertising Coordinator; she had been Operations Manager at the Book Industry Study Group. Additionally, Bruce Tracy will depart his position as Senior Editor on November 27 to return to freelancing.

Emily Fisher joins Bloomsbury as Publicist. She was previously Associate Publicist at Avery and Tarcher/Perigee.

At Penguin Random House, Andy Ward becomes Publisher, a role occupied by Susan Kamil until her death last month. Additionally, Robin Desser moves over from Knopf to become SVP and Editor-in-Chief, while Tammy Cabot has been promoted to VP, Director of Specialty Retail Sales.

At HarperCollins Christian Publishing and its HarperCollins Focus affiliate, Laura Minchew becomes SVP, Children’s and Group Publisher and Michael Aulisio becomes VP of Marketing for the children’s and gift group. Jennifer Gott becomes Associate Publisher and Kristi Smith is now Senior Director of Marketing for HarperCollins Christian Publishing Gift Books. At W Publishing, Damon Reiss has become VP and Publisher and Sara Broun becomes Publicity Director. Amber Oliver has been promoted to Associate Editor at Harper.

Danielle McMahan is now Chief People Officer at John Wiley & Sons.

At Readerlink Distribution Services, Roger Ramsey becomes Senior Director of Process Improvement for Inventory.

Michelle Montague has been promoted to Executive Director of Marketing at Holiday House.

At Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, Amy Habayeb is now Associate Director of Subsidiary Rights. At Scribner, Kara Watson becomes Executive Editor and Ashley Gilliam becomes Senior Marketing Manager.

At Westminster John Knox Press, Robert Ratcliff has been promoted to Editor-in-Chief and Jessica Miller Kelley has been promoted to Senior Acquisitions Editor.
