At G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers, Jennifer Klonsky will assume the position of VP, Publisher on January 2, 2018. She joins from HarperCollins Children’s Books, where she was Editorial Director. At the end of this year, Putnam EVP, Associate Publisher, and Editor-in-Chief Neil Nyren will retire. Milena Alberti, CFO of Penguin Random House since 2015, will also depart at that time. A new CFO will be appointed in the first quarter of next year; Deputy CFO James Johnston will lead the Finance Group in the interim.

At Gallery Books, Associate Publisher Jennifer Long has been named Vice President and will oversee all mass market publications at Simon & Schuster beginning in January. As a result of the marketing group realignment, Marketing Director Liz Psaltis will leave the company at the end of this year. Abigail Novak will join Touchstone as Publicist beginning December 11, having previously worked as Assistant Publicist at HarperCollins.

Victoria Burwell has joined Scholastic Education as SVP, Strategic Marketing. She was previously SVP, Chief Marketing Officer at McGraw-Hill Education. Carol Chanter has also joined as SVP, Professional Learning Services, and most recently held the same title at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Jodie Cohen is now Director of Marketing for Algonquin Young Readers. Most recently she was Senior Marketing Manager at Penguin Random House.

Ray Wolf has joined Leisure Arts as SVP, Sales & Marketing. He was previously Director, Sales & Business Development at Fox Chapel Publishing. Peg Couch has likewise joined as VP, Publishing, having worked most recently as Editorial Director at Fox Chapel.

Julie Temple Stan has joined Highlights as VP, Editorial Director, Highlights Learning. Previously, she was President of Bluum, a baby gift box company.

Christina Boys has launched CEB Editorial Services, a publishing and editorial consultancy. She was most recently Senior Editor at Hachette Nashville.

Nina Nocciolino has joined Cave Henricks Communications as Publicity Director. Nocciolino was previously Senior Media & Communications Manager at Harvard Business Review Press.

At No Starch Press, Sean Concannon has joined as Sales Director. Most recently he was Account Manager at HighWire Press, Inc.

Eve Scalzo has joined Speilburg Literary Agency as Agent, representing romance and YA fiction, while Deborah Hofmann, previously Editor of the New York Times bestseller lists, is now Agent at the David Black Literary Agency.

At The Authors Guild, Cheryl L. Davis has joined as General Counsel. Davis was formerly Partner at Menaker & Herrmann.

Alex Coumbis has joined Laurence King Publishing as Senior Publicist. She was most recently Publicist at Del Ray Books.

Saraciea Fennell has joined Tor, Tor Teen, Starscape, and Forge as Publicist. Most recently, she was Publicist at Little, Brown Children’s.

Pippa White has joined Callisto Media as Editor, having worked previously as Associate Editor at Chronicle Books.

PROMOTIONS

Janelle Cherrington has been promoted to SVP, Publisher at Scholastic Education.

Debra Linn has been promoted to National Accounts Manager for Workman Publishing. Liz Davis has been promoted to Editor for the Workman imprint, and Evan Griffith is now Editor at Workman Children’s.

At Penguin Random House Audio, Jennifer Rubins has been promoted to Associate Director, Creative Marketing; Taraneh Djangi, to Senior Manager, Creative Marketing; Victoria Tomao, to Associate Director, Marketing Strategy; and Robert Guzman, to Senior Manager, Marketing Strategy. In addition, Dennis Tyrrell is now Associate Director, Digital Products, and Nicole Morano is now Publicity Manager. At Putnam, Tara Singh Carlson has been promoted to Executive Editor.

At Amazon Publishing, Kristin King and Sarah Shaw are both now Author Relations Manager.

Kimberly Carlton has been promoted to Associate Acquisitions Editor for Fiction at HarperCollins Christian Publishing.

At Catapult, Morgan Jerkins is now Associate Editor of the magazine, while Megha Majumdar has been promoted to Associate Editor for the magazine and books.

Jen Ung has been promoted to Editor at Simon Pulse.

DULY NOTED

Inner Traditions/Bear & Company has acquired Scottish body/mind/spirit publisher Findhorn Press and its three imprints, Findhorn, Camino Guides, and Earthdancer. As of January 1, all of Findhorn Press’s titles will be distributed by Inner Traditions’ distributor, Simon & Schuster. Future titles will be released by Inner Traditions, beginning in March 2018.

Quarto will begin North American distribution of Russian children’s publisher Clever Publishing in 2018.

In January, Rizzoli New York and its parent company, Mondadori Electa, will launch a new imprint, Rizzoli Electa, to focus on museum and exhibition catalogues. This imprint will replace Skira Rizzoli, a joint venture with Skira that was founded in 2008 and has since been dissolved.

The Steven Laube Agency has acquired the Leslie H. Stobbe Literary Agency.

Simon & Schuster will distribute Galvanized Media beginning January 1, 2018.
