Longtime Farrar, Straus & Giroux Chief Operating Officer Andrew Mandel will leave his position on December 1 after seventeen years with the company. Brian Heller has stepped down from his position as VP, Academic, Library, Wholesale & International at Macmillan, where he worked for twenty-four years. Katie Kraska joins the company as Director of Finance Projects; she was previously Director of Strategy and Analysis at Penguin Random House. Jennifer Didik returns to Macmillan as Assistant Director, Business Planning after working as Contracts and Permissions Manager at Library of America. Gayatri Dubey joins as Program Manager, Talent & Development. Jared Adler, Dawn Barley, and John Rieg have each joined as Royalty Manager. Ghada Daoud joins as Supply Chain Associate. Ingram’s print-on-demand business Lightning Source is partnering with Dai Nippon Printing to bring its global POD and distribution capacities to Japan.

Independent Publishers Group has acquired UK-based United Independent Distributors. IPG will bring its ebook platform and digital printing solutions to UID’s holdings.

Additionally, IPG has added seven publishers to its Trafalgar Square Publishing and IPG Spanish divisions: Marshall Cavendish International, effective July 1; Banipal and Tablo Tales, effective November 1; Garnet Publishing Ltd., effective November 15; Editorial Ekeka, effective December 1; Major Street Publishing, effective January 1; and Antoni Bosch Editor, effective February 1.

Effective January 3, Consortium Book Sales & Distribution handles sales & distribution for three new publishers: CLASH Books, Little Island Books, and Saraband Ltd.

Princeton University Press will become the exclusive distributor of the Princeton University Art Museum’s frontlist and backlist, effective February 1, 2022, and will co-publish a selection of its titles. The Press will provide support through marketing, publicity, global sales, and distribution, while the Museum will continue to oversee scholarly content development, editorial, design, and production.

As of November 1, Jeffrey Belle has joined the Andrews McMeel Universal board. He was previously at Amazon, where he started and ran Amazon Publishing.

Rebecca Fitting, co-founder and formerly co-owner of Greenlight Bookstore, has resigned as president of the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association, as well as resigning from its board. The new president is Loyalty BookstoresHannah Oliver Depp, formerly NAIBA’s vice-president. Erin Mathews of Last Word Bookstore becomes vice-president, while Michael Triebwasser of Politics & Prose becomes Treasurer.
