Adriana Rizzo joined Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as VP, Marketing. She was previously Senior Director of Marketing for ESPN. Alexandra Primiani joined the company as Publicist. Steve Rosato joined OverDrive as an International Development Executive, focusing on their global expansion. He was previously BEA Show Director.

Allison Malec Renzulli will join Ten Speed Press in mid-April as Associate Director of Marketing. She was Culinary Marketing Director at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Megan Schumann joined Crown Publishing Group as Senior Publicist and Marketer. She was previously Publicist at Dey Street Books and William Morrow. Olivia Taussig is now Publicist at Viking. Mary Hern joined Abrams as Managing Editorial Director. She was Managing Director at Sterling.

Kathryn Sky-Peck is now Creative Director of Red Wheel/Weiser. She was most recently freelancing for production and packaging. Christine LeBlond joined the company as Senior Acquisitions Editor. She was most recently Agent at the Susan Schulman Literary Agency.

At Open Road, Brett Collins is now SVP, Product Development and Michael Gedonius is now VP, Integrated National Sales. Collins was Founder and Digital Strategist at Counterspace and Gedonius was Account Manager at Playboy Enterprises.

Ian Delaney joined Chronicle Books as Indie Trade Sales Coordinator. He was formerly Sales and Marketing Manager at McSweeney’s.

Theresa Collier joined Artisan as Senior Publicity and Associate Marketing Manager. She was previously Publicist at Bloomsbury.

Sarah Broun joined HarperCollins’ Christian Publishing Nelson Books as Senior Publicist.

Sarah Riley will step down as Director of Translation Rights at Aitken Alexander at the end of April, continuing part-time after that to oversee her successor.

Kim Bockius-Suwyn is now Executive Director of the Savannah Book Festival.

PROMOTIONS

Brendan Curry was appointed to the newly created role of VP, Trade Sales and Marketing at W.W. Norton. He was previously Senior Editor. Bill Rusin, Meredith MCGinnis, and Louise Brockett, the heads of Norton’s sales, marketing, and publicity departments, respectively, will report to Curry.

Ingram Content Group promoted Shawn Morin to CEO. John Ingram will continue as Chairman of the company.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt promoted Marie Gorman to SVP, Sales and Laurie Brown to SVP, Associate Trade Group Publisher and Business Development.

At Penguin Random House, Erica Curtis was promoted to VP of Campaigns and Analytics and Mina Park to Director, Consumer Insights. Siobhan O’Hare is now VP, Associate Publisher at Fodor’s Travel. Ten Speed Press promoted David Hawk to Assistant Director of Publicity, Daniel Wikey to Marketing and Publicity Manager, and Erin Welke to Publicity Manager. At Portfolio, Sentinel, and Current, Will Weisser was promoted to Deputy Publisher, in addition to his role as VP, Marketing Director, Tara Gilbride was promoted to VP, and Niki Papadopoulos to Executive Editor.  Diane Landolf was promoted to Senior Editor at Random House Books for Young Readers and Golden Books.

Kim Sayle is now Associate Publisher, Operations at Hachette Audio. Additionally at Hachette, Rehka Ramani was promoted to VP, Deputy General Counsel, Torrey Oberfest to VP, Corporate Strategy, and Elise Solomon to VP, Senior Counsel and Director of Litigation. Barry Broadhead was promoted to Senior National Accounts Manager and Ken Graham to National Accounts Manager. Tom Walser, Jean Fenton, John Leary, and Tom McIntyre were promoted to Senior Sales Representatives.

At Simon & Schuster, Bob Bender is now VP, Executive Editor and Jofie Ferrari-Adler and Ben Loehnen were promoted to Executive Editors.

Liz Van Doren was promoted to VP, Book Editorial at Highlights for Children.

Chronicle Books promoted Lisa Bach to Director of Independent Special Sales.

Springer Nature promoted Steven Inchcoombe to Chief Publishing Officer.

Tiffany Sawyer was promoted to Associate Director of Publicity at Nelson Books.

McGraw-Hill Professional promoted Knox Huston to Executive Editor.

Keir Graff was promoted to Executive Editor, Booklist Publications at the American Library Association.

DULY NOTED

The sale of Perseus Books Group’s publishing divisions to Hachette and distribution divisions to Ingram officially closed on April 1st and March 30th, respectively. Perseus CEO David Steinberger has previously said that he will be leaving the company once the sale is finalized.

The MIT Press, Princeton University Press, and Yale University Press formed a joint US sales team, to go into effect in spring 2017. David LePere will be the sales representative for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, John Eklund for the Midwest, and Patricia Nelson for the Northwest, Southwest, the Rockies, and California. Steven Ballinger will sell to the Western states until his retirement after the fall 2016 season. Eklund will retire this August.

Publishing Technology changed its name to Ingenta.

Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman has moved to 114 West 47th Street, New York, NY 10036.
