David Rosenthal, Founder of now-closed Blue Rider Press, has joined Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as Editor-at-Large.

Nicole Vines Verlin joins Simon & Schuster in the new position of VP, Special Sales. She was previously Director, Special Sales, Mass Market and Export Sales at Sterling Publishing. Jimmy Iacobelli has joined Atria as Art Director, having previously served in that role at HarperCollins. And at Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, Kate Bouchard joins as Digital & Social Marketing Assistant.

At Bloomsbury, Frank Bumbalo has joined as US Director of Sales, including Canada. He was most recently Senior Sales Manager at Disney Publishing Worldwide.

At Sourcebooks, Claire Payne joins as Director of Sales, Mass & Special Markets. Most recently she was Senior Director of Sales at Parragon.

At INKubator Enterprises, a new book packager launched by Ruth Pomerance, Adam Wilson has been hired as Director of Content. Most recently he was Senior Editor at Gallery Books. INKubator will generate approximately ten books a year across genres and is working in partnership with Folio Literary Management.

Michael Signorelli has been hired by Gotham Ghostwriters as Managing Director, Bookwriting Group. Most recently he was Senior Editor at Henry Holt.

In January, Rebecca Smart will join DK as Managing Director, Publishing. For the last four years she has been Managing Director at Ebury.

Executive Editor Jennifer Schuster has left Crown Archetype to launch Jen Schuster Editorial Services.

At Princeton University Press, Hallie Stebbins joins as Editor, Computer Science and Neuroscience. She was previously Editor, Linguistics and Communication Studies at Oxford University Press.

Zachary Schisgal has joined Wiley as Senior Acquisitions Editor. He previously ran The Schisgal Agency.

In other agency news…Kirsten Kim joins Sanford J. Greenburger Associates as Scout. Previously she was Associate Editor at Skyhorse. At Hannigan Salky Getzler, former Rodale Subrights Director Rhea Lyons joins as Agent.

PROMOTIONS

At Simon & Schuster, Wendy Sheanin moves up to VP, Independent Retail Sales; Paula Amendolara, to VP, Director of National Accounts; and Eileen Gentillo, VP, Director of Sales Operations. In addition, Jisoo Leones is now Manager, Sales Operations and Client Publisher Services, while Andrés Feliciano becomes Coordinator, Client Publisher Services, and Lis Kingren-Hawkins is promoted to Sales Operations Coordinator. At Touchstone, Lauren Spiegel has been promoted to Executive Editor. And at Free Press, Natasha Simons becomes Senior Editor and will continue to acquire and edit for S&S’s general list.

Jay Flynn is now Chief Product Officer, Research at Wiley.

Sourcebooks announced a number of recent promotions. Annie Berger is now Senior Editor, Jabberwocky and Fire, and Molly Fletcher moves up to Marketing Associate, Ecommerce. Christy Droege has been promoted to Data & Analytics Department Manager, while Stephanie Lewis becomes Business Data & Analytics Manager and Drew French becomes Data Scientist.

At Princeton University Press, Jessica Yao moves up to Associate Editor, Physical Sciences.

Kerry Cullen has been promoted to Assistant Editor at Henry Holt.

At MIRA, Margot Mallinson moves up to Assistant Editor.

DULY NOTED

This fall Running Press will launch RP Studio, a line offering notecards, journals, and other paper goods based on their titles. Senior Editor Shannon Connors Fabricant oversees the program, which will produce 25 to 30 new titles a year.

Folio Literary Management has acquired, and will continue the business of, Harold Ober Associates. All Ober personnel are joining Folio with the exception of President Phyllis Westberg and Agent Craig Tenney, who are retiring.

Dover Publications is proud to announce that Senior Editor John Grafton recently celebrated his golden anniversary with the company. Grafton joined Dover in 1968 after attending graduate school at New York University.
