On July 1, Jeff Seroy will relinquish his role as SVP, Director of Marketing and Publicity at Farrar, Straus & Giroux after nearly 25 years. He will become SVP, Director of Special Projects.

At Open Road Integrated Media, Katherine McCahill, formerly VP, Partnerships, Consumer Events, and Emerging Tech and Apps at Penguin Random House, joins as Executive Director of Content Strategy. Michael Wynne, formerly Digital Lead Generation and Customer Acquisition Director at Acxiom, joins as Customer Acquisition Manager. Also joining the company is Eric Meyer, Metadata Specialist.

After a year serving as Interim Executive Director of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP), Chloe Schwenke has been made Executive Director.

Aly Mostel joins HarperOne as Director of Marketing. She has been working most recently as a freelance communications consultant. Stephen Brayda is also joining the company as Art Director for HarperVia, Amistad, and HarperEspañol on April 24.

Kathleen Doherty is retiring from her position as VP, Publisher for Tor Teen and Starscape after 34 years with Tor/Forge.

In agency news…Nicole Geiger, Founding Publisher of Tricycle Press, is joining Full Circle Literary as Agent.

At Chronicle Books, Mary Duke joins as Marketing Manager, Children’s. Previously she was Marketing Associate at HarperOne.

Sue Ostfield, previously Sales Manager at Redleaf Press, has joined the American University in Cairo as Marketing Manager. She can be contacted at sue.ostfield@aucegypt.edu.

Jessica Tackett joins Princeton Architectural Press as Associate Marketing Manager. She previously held that title at Bloomsbury Digital Resources.

At Dexterity, Kathryn Notestine has joined as Associate Editor. She was most recently Associate Publicist at JKS Communications.

Stephanie Hess joins Orbit Books as Graphic Designer for Marketing. Most recently she was Junior Designer at Penguin Random House.

At Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, Cassandra Fernandez, lately Marketing Assistant at Random House Children’s Books, joins as Marketing Associate.

At Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Marissa Page has joined as Publicity Associate.

Chantz Erolin joins Graywolf Press as Editorial and Production Associate. He was previously Publisher’s Assistant at City Lights Books.

 

PROMOTIONS

Miriam Parker has been promoted to VP, Associate Publisher at Ecco. At HarperOne, Julia Kent becomes Associate Director of Marketing and Carolyn Davidson becomes Marketing Coordinator. At HarperCollins Children’s Books, Luana Horry has been promoted to Associate Editor; Alyssa Miele, to Editor; and Carolina Ortiz and Stephanie Guerdan, both to Assistant Editors. Sarah Homer is now Assistant Editor at HarperCollins.

At Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Michael Harrigan has been promoted to Executive Director, Amazon. James Phirman moves up to Executive Director of Special Sales. Carissa Ray is now Sales Manager, Emily Logan is now National Account Manager, and Marina Padakis becomes Seniorn Managing Editor, while both Sarah Kwak and Pilar Garcia-Brown have been promoted to Associate Editors. Bethany Vinhateiro and Alessandra Preziosi move up to become Senior Editors at HMH Books for Young Readers, where Sammy Brown also becomes Publicist.

Sarah Mangiola is now Executive Editor for Content Strategy and Carolyn Cox moves up to Managing Editor for Content Strategy. Kate Phelan has been promoted to Senior Editor. At little bee books, Rob Wall has been promoted to Art Director.

Robin Noonan is now Director of Sales and Marketing at Naval Institute Press and Dead Reckoning.

Susan Dobinick has been promoted to Senior Editor, Nonfiction at Bloomsbury Children’s Books.

At Sourcebooks Casablanca, Mary Altman has been promoted to Senior Editor.

Jen Monroe has been promoted to Editor at Berkley.

At Chronicle Books, Janine Sato is now Production Developer.

 

DULY NOTED

Tom Doherty Associates has created Nightfire, a new horror imprint that will release its first list in early 2021. Nightfire will publish 20 to 24 titles annually.

Simon & Schuster has begun handling sales and distribution worldwide for Tra Publishing.

Princeton Architectural Press is now the licensed published and distributor of Moleskine Books and will take over editing, production, design, marketing, distribution, and sales responsibilities for Moleskine’s book line.

This summer, Follett will open five new fulfillment centers in Philadelphia, Orlando, Dallas, Chicago, and San Bernardino. All are scheduled to open by August 1.
